We've had a very wet weekend to say the least! I can't begin to express how many lives this flood has touched. People have been misplaced from their homes, and have had to go live with friends, family, or shelters. Many of our close friends and family have been affected. Efforts have already started to clean up every ones homes.
This is the marker at River Front Park. It's highest number is 50. The water arose to 51.7! Which means it flooded part of downtown.Jenny, Matt, Addy Grace, and Lucy (their dog) live off of Coley Davis Road in Bellevue. This road runs right beside the Harpeth River which flooded over Coley Davis and went into many neighborhoods. Luckily Jenny and Matt's house was not touched by water but they were unable to leave their street because of the "Pond Like" condition! Their power also went off on Saturday night and their water was turned off on Monday so they had to leave their home. Shane drove (the best way he could) to pick them up on interstate 40. They are now safe at Joe and Malinda's home for a few days. Lucy is enjoying herself in a kiddie pool at our house with our pup, Elsie!
After hearing all the heart wrenching stories that people are telling it makes me realize how much we really come together to help others in need. Even after all of the devastation, I can see God working!!
