"Getting Ready for the Beach!"

We decided to take a quick trip down to Gulf Shores next week. We leave a week from today (Wednesday)! We are going with Jenny and Matt (Shane's sister and her hubby), Sarabeth, and Shane's Uncle Bubba! We are SO excited! I made Madelyn try on her swim suits to make sure they fit. Afterwards I let her play in it for a while because the girl just does NOT like to have her clothes changed!
Today we found that her two top teeth are finally coming in. As my sister Allison said.... "Maddie's ready to eat steak!" Well not yet...but we are happy to know why she was so unpleasant the past 4 days!

Madelyn has a new favorite friend...hint..hint...he's red, is a friendly monster, he loves his goldfish (Dorthy), and he also loves his crayons....who is he???....."Elmo!" or as she says "Mel Mo!"

Maddie got her first bobo today....

I knew her getting hurt was the inevitable especially now that she is totting around but gosh it makes me feel bad when she gets hurt.... We've baby proofed our house including our coffee table....well the corners...she still managed to hit the side edge with her eye...I walked in the room to see her screaming and had blood running down her face....This is the first time she has ever bled... We put a cold wet bath cloth on it and she screamed louder... Afterwards we gave her a Popsicle which made her happy and a little Tylenol..

A couple of months ago Jenny (Shane's sister) got Madelyn a book called "Silly Faces, See Me... on The Farm!" She loves reading this book! She laughs and laughs! She still tells us that all of the animals say "woof!" Here are few quick shots of her.

My First Mothers Day!

This morning Shane and Maddie gave me a home-made card with her foot and hand prints..It was so sweet! and I got a monogrammed shower curtain (I've been talking about getting one for some time). Today we celebrated Mothers Day with Shane's family. After church we went and ate lunch at Union Station -Wyndham Historic Hotel.. It was a fantastic meal and the view was breath taking! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! After the meal each lady was given a single rose...very pretty!

The dress Madelyn is wearing is one that Nino hand made for Sara when she was a baby..yes it's still Beautiful and perfect after 17 years! She was kind enough to let us borrow it!

Play date at the Zoo!

Several of the moms from our class at church decided to go to the Zoo for a play date! It was such nice weather! not too hot...just right! We walked through and looked at all the animals then ate lunch and finished up with the elephants and giraffes! Madelyn and the other younger kids really showed no interest in the animals but loved seeing the other kids! Madelyn liked looking at the fish in the tank area. A few questions answered about me!

Maybe I should... start being more patient.

I love the smell of... watermelon,and cucumbers.

People would say that I... am exactly where I want to be.

I don’t understand why... God lets bad things happen to good people. But, I do understand God’s ways are not our own and not for me to understand.

When I wake up in the morning... I wish I could go back to sleep!

I lost my will power to... keep the house clean all the time.

Life is wonderful with... my husband and child!

I get annoyed when... people are loud, rude, or slow.

Parties are not... fun when they are loud and obnoxious.

Dogs are... great if they are potty trained and don’t shed.

I'm totally terrified of... quick changes in my life.

I wonder why I thought my life would be... not as good as it is now.

Never in my life... have I smoked anything!!!

High school was something that... was fine but I DON'T miss it!

When I'm nervous... I stutter and bite my nails.

Take my advice... start watching LOST, or buy the first 3 seasons and catch up!

Making my bed is… not something I do everyday.

I'm almost always... on time. My husband is not.

I'm addicted to… Diet Mt. Dew and Oreos (in small doses).

I want someone… to open up a day spa so I can get free massages for life.

"Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Jar?"

......Madelyn did. And here is the proof. Today Shane had to run to West End to drop something of to a friend so Madelyn and I tagged along. She was getting a little fussy in the back so I handed her a chocolate chip cookie(the quarter size bites). This was her first experience with a cookie. Look at her picture and tell me what she thought of it!!!

After we got home I had to put her in the tub and clean up the car seat!

Maddie turned 11 months!

Madelyn is 11 months old (332 days or 47 wks)...and my heavens is she going everywhere and getting into everything! She is also talking all the time...well babbling mostly..She will say..mama, dada, yummy, nanana(not sure what that means, she says it when she gets hurt or is mad!) She also points at things and knows who Miles (our cat), and Elsie(or dog) is. She is also taking many steps (usually she has something in her hands). The most she has taken at one time is 6! She LOVES to be outside. If she knows/sees one of us outside she cries to go too!

She is still a great sleeper! She goes down at 8:30 and gets up around 7:00 ish. (we are loving this!) She also still takes 2 naps a day, both are about an hour long. She loves looking at books and looking at pictures of family members, and baths, o-ya and eating...and rightfully so, she is part Ivey and King!

She still only has two teeth (both on bottom). Lately Shane and I thought She might be getting another tooth b/c she has been grumpy and wants to be held a lot, so we've been letting her eat on popcicles. She loves this!
