HE HAS RISEN!!!

After church we all met at Nino and Joe Joes for some yummy food and Easter Egg Hunting! All of the Ivey children were SO BEAUTIFUL in their Easter outfits!! All of them were in light blue! Brooks gown was VERY special...(bottom of post)
The mommies were so happy to have gotten a few good shots of all the kids!
Uncle Shoe wanted to hold Baby Brooks. He had not seen him since the hospital.
Addy Grace and Madelyn just LOVE each other!!!
Nino getting in her Brooksie Bear time!
After lunch the kids were so excited about the egg hunt...Sadly it was REALLY rainy and cold so we made do and hid eggs under the porch!
Waiting patiently for the daddys to finish hiding the eggs.
I LOVE the expressions on their faces. Sheer excitement!
Murphy man was on a ROLL!! He dominated over the girls!!!
He had SO many eggs it was crazy!
Madelyn found some of the eggs that we died the night before!
Sweet Milly did such a great job! Addy Lou found a few too!
Murphy was so happy to show us his loot!!!
Love my sweet hubby!!!
The girls found goodies in some of their eggs! YUMMY!!
Murphy was eating on the M&M's!
Full family picture minus a special two....we sure missed Sarabeth and Payton!
Easter goodies from Nino and Joe Joe

Brooks is wearing his daddys baby gown. Nino smocked this darling gown before Shane was born...it was her VERY first gown to ever make!! I adore it! You bet Brooks is going to wear it until his neck just wont fit anymore!
I bought these sweet shoes as soon as I found out I was pregnant!
Pictures just doesn't do this gown justice!!

Brooks Baby Dedication

On the very first Sunday to bring a new baby to church you have your very own baby dedication.
We took our family picture in the church office.
My dear sweet friend....Ginny Burton and her son Port. These two are sure to be buddies!
During church service our preacher, Chris Smith called us up to the front to pray over our darling Brooks.  Chris asked why we decided not to name him with an "M". I said well technically he does start with an M...His name is Marlin Brooks but will go by Brooks. Shane and I LOVE that he is carrying on Dondi's name.  He was truly a Godly man and we still miss him so much.
Brooks was just an angel baby dressed in his fathers baby gown! L.O.V.E
After church we went to Mackees for lunch. It's really our FAVORITE place in town to eat!

Hippity Hoppity

Every year we look forward to the MOST amazing Easter EGG hunt! It is hosted by the Ezells at their beautiful home! It was a chilly/wet day but the kids still had a great time!
Madelyn and Murphy got TONS of eggs! Nana helped Murphy with his basket.
This sweet little guy LOVES his Batman boots! Has to wear them everywhere!
Funny little dude!
My darling girl found a "golden egg" which she was super excited about! After the egg hunt we couldn't find it anywhere!! It must have tumbled out of her basket while picking up another egg! So Sad.....maybe we'll find one next year.
The next morning the kids ran to the front door to see if the Easter bunny had indeed come by our house and eaten the lettuce and carrots they had left outside the night before....SHE had!!
These kidos were so EXCITED to see GOODIES in their baskets!
After a little playtime we got ready for church which was ALSO Brooks very first time to go!!!

Spring Break in MS

Madelyn had an entire 2weeks off for Spring Break so the children and I headed to MS to visit with family! Beside...only my mother had ever met Brooks so it was about time! There are now a total of NINE grandchildren for mom and dad!! What's even funnier is that there is SIX BOYS and only three girls! All of the cousins had SO much fun!
My granny is So dear to me! She is absolutely THE most precious woman in the world! I love her! I was so excited to introduce Brooks to her! She loves nothing more than to hold a new baby....and to watch them nurse (insert giggle from me and my sisters)!

Lauren and I took the belly picture back in October. These little boys were cooking. It was so sweet to see them side by side! Sweet little Knox has dark hair, dark eyes, and dark complexion.. and sweet Brooks has a very fair complexion, blue eyes and light red hair!! SO completely opposite!!
While down in Kosy we did a little celebrating!! Mom and Avas birthdays are close! Its so hard to believe that Ava is 10!
Pops was always willing to feed Brooks a bottle and sing him a song...(usually "Down in the Valley") This was sung to all three gals when we were little!
Granny had her hands full for sure!
Several folks have asked where Shane and I got Brooks name. Well this is part of his name sake. My sisters name before getting married was Allison Brooke King...so we took the masculine version of it. Brooks first name, Marlin, came from Shanes paternal grandfather. Both Shanes grand father and father have the name Marlin. We wanted to use it to honor Dondi. He was very loved and is very missed by us!
Silly Chap talking to his baby brother, Knox!
Madelyn and Murphy LOVE to participate in cooking. Nana let them help her make a chocolate chip pound cake! This is Madelyn's (and apparently Murphy's) favorite!! The following morning I walked into the dinning room to find Murphy on the table indulging in CAKE!  All he could say was
"IT YUMMY MOMMY!"....so much for breakfast!
They LOVE their NANA!!!
On Tuesday we headed to Jackson to visit with Mema!! This was her first time to meet Brooks! She got in lots of cuddles with our sweet Brooks!
Brooks and Knox got to hang out one more time before we left...Mom and dad came back up to Nashville for Easter weekend!
