announcing....(Drum roll please...)

Madelyn's baby brother has a name!

We are trying to help Madelyn get ready for baby to get here......giving the baby a name and announcing it is a step in that direction......hopefully :)
Not sure yet if we're going to call him "Murphy" or "Hayes" yet. I'll let Shane decide. Murphy was the last name of Dondi's (Marlin, Shane's paternal grandfather) grandmother. So Shane's great great grandmother. Everyone called her Mama Murphy. Hayes was Mema's (Nelma, Shane's paternal grandmother) maiden name.

gone cross eyed yet?!?

23 wks/ Dr. Visit

We are 57.5% of the way there!

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (a large mango
), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.
We went to a regular Dr. visit today with Dr. Draughn. He said everything looks good! According to Fundal Height Measurement (measured from the top of the pubic bone to the top of the uterus) baby is measuring at 24 wks. Just one week ahead. (WHEW!!) 91% kinda scared me a little last time! Baby's heart beat was 143-145 bpm and sounded SO sweet!
Madelyn said "I hear baby brothers heart beep!"
We talked a little about our visit with the maternal Fetal Specialist. Dr. Draughn said that he would like to get one more ultrasound of the baby in the third trimester just to get a good look at him before the delivery. By then all of the bones are completely calcified so that they can a better look at baby's spine. After that ultrasound all of the information gathered will be sent to both our pediatrician and the pediatrician at Baptist Hospital where we will be delivering this youngin. The maternal Fetal Specialist also said that he highly recommended this baby getting an X-Ray after he is born. This will provide a much clearer picture.
Madelyn sitting in the chair waiting for Dr. Draughn. She was playing a game on my iphone!
Next Dr. Visit I get to look forward to the dreaded Glucose Test and Rhogam Shot!
I receive the Rhogam shot with every pregnancy because I am O- blood type. Shane is O+. Any woman with an Rh of - will get the Rhogam shot so that mom's body does not fight off the baby's body if it is RH+. I will get one during pregnancy then again after baby is born but only if baby is RH+. With Maddie I didn't get the shot after delivery because she has my exact blood type...O-! wanna know more?!? go to www.vaccinetruth.org/rhogam.htm

Church Easter Egg Hunt

This morning Madelyn went to her first real Easter Egg Hunt! It was put on by our church and hosted at the beautiful home of Stan and LeEllen Ezell. She had SO much fun and did a great job!

Madelyn and Audrey

Maddie was not happy about being near the Easter bunny...I'm just glad she was not crying!
"Found One!"
"Mom, not in public!"

She would count the entire basket of eggs after every one she picked up not realizing that she would get more if she did not count them! Too Funny!

After the hunt lunch was provided. Everything was decorated! The kids received their lunch in an Easter basket...what a cute idea it was!

We are 55.0% of the way there!

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti
i squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
I stay hot with this baby, thank goodness for dresses! What is sad is it's only March! By May 1st You'll find me floating around in Nino's pool everyday I'm sure!

I thought I would share some of my cravings that I've had with this youngin.
~Corn Flakes with a Banana and milk
~Smoothies (tropical flavors)
~Chicago style hot dogs...(you know mustard, relish, sauerkraut, celery seeds, and tomato's)
not my usual thing at all!
~Cranberry, pecan & apple salads with Briannas Poppy Seed Dressing
~Any kind of meats really...This must be a "boy" thing
~I really love Pei Wei! I could eat it every day!
~Sharp Cheddar with crackers.
Last but not least strawberries! (Thank goodness they're on sale right now!)

21 wks

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long- the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like he's practicing martial arts as his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now.
This little fella already has a personality! He jumps when I cough, sneeze, or turn on my hair dryer. I can tell when he is awake because he plays and "kicks" around! I can already see the movement while watching my tummy if I'm laying down. He even like playing with my seat belt strap in the car and sometimes my pants band. He will also thump at things that I place on my belly like remote controls and IPhones! Funny little guy! I already can't wait to meet him!
