Bath Time fun!

Madelyn and Murphy love their bath time! They could play for hours in there! I love to watch them interact now. Madelyn will give Murphy a toy and tell him what "role" he is supposed to play. Sometimes I even think he understands what she is asking of him;) Usually he is a prince, or a knight or even the bad guy...She, of course plays the princess;) Although he is quiet entertained when the toy goes flying over the side of the tub...He says "Uh-Oh!" Then proceeded to get out of the tub, throws it back into the water, crawls back into the tub...then does it again! (little mess)   

 My two LOVE dinosaurs! They even have to join them in the bath tub!

Happy Birthday Shane!

 

We celebrated Shane's birthday this weekend! We spent all day Saturday at our house just enjoying playing and not having to go anywhere! Madelyn had fun helping bake cupcakes! Murphy had a blast eating them!

 It was a chilly day but the kidos loved jumping on the tramp-o-line! Murphy and Madelyn laugh and giggle the entire time! Shane worked on restoring his boat.

 On Sunday Nino made Shane the most delicious birthday lunch! We had yummy cheese grits, salad, slap-yo-mama brisket, and fresh veggies!

 Our friend Brooke made Shane an amazing "Trout Cake". This was, or course requested by him! Lets just say she does NOT disappoint!

 It was almost too beautiful to cut into!

 After lunch Joe was holding Milly...Well Murphy thought that he also should sit in his Joe Joe's lap. Murphy climbed up there and started "talking to Milly and checking out her ladybug shirt! It was SO cute!

My Daddy!

 

Everyone in our family knows that these two are CRAZY about each other! Talk about a "daddy's girl!" She listens and watches everything her daddy does...(watch yourself Shane...) Mema has even referred to Madelyn as "Shana"! Too funny! I jokingly refer to Madelyn as Shane Jr.!

On Thursday Madelyn's class had "Donuts with Dad." Madelyn was SO excited to show all of her friends her daddy.

The orange sheet is from this year, the blue is from last year. I love how Shane has apparently gotten 16 years younger in one years time! Maybe I should start eating more salads, hot dogs and carrots!

Madelyn loved showing her daddy her room!

She even had to show Shane the Shield and a Battle Axe in the dress up area!!! 

See what I mean, she knows her daddy! When I picked Madelyn up from school that day her teacher told me that after Shane left that Madelyn was going around telling everyone 

"THAT was my daddy, isn't he cute?" Her teachers thought this was so funny!

18 Months!

 Our little ray of sunshine is 18 months old.  He is funny, sweet, and all boy.  Murphy loves to laugh, give kisses, balls, cars, animals & dinosaurs... BUT more than anything he loves to climb!

~When it comes to talking, our little man says very few words but those few words he says ALL THE TIME! 

~They include: Joe Joe which sounds more like Dwhoe Dwhoe 

(while blubbering your lips....hold on..does that even make sense?!)

~He Hollars COOKIE!

~ Tells us All Done at the table 

~Tells us about 5 animal sounds.

~most of the time our child just uses caveman sounds....boy....right?

~Nurses twice a day. I enjoy this time because honestly this is the only time during the day that he slows down and lets me hold him and smell him and really snuggle and for him it provides comfort and a sense of security. I adore our time together;)

 and quite frankly....I'm proud of myself for coming this far! I am part of less than 4% of US women!

~He tells us when he poops (he grabs his back end and says "eww"while scrunching his little nose)

~his favorite word right now is of course...."Mama!"

~calls Shane "Da Eee!"

~TMI.....(Grabs his boy parts and says "Tee-tee") 

~eats EVERYTHING in sight!

~nods his head "yes" and "no"

~has the best big belly laugh! It cracks us up!

~Loves, loves, loves his sister!

......and getting into her possessions.....

~He recently started doing this thing where when he gets excited, he shakes his shoulders....

We call this "The Shimmy!"

~He also has a funny little sound he makes when he's playing with Madelyn or being mischievous. It sounds like a clearing throat chuckle!

A very HUGE Thank You to Nino and Joe Joe!

The Ivey crew wanted to thank Nino and Joe Joe for our trip to CO! It was amazing! We made SO many wonderful memories there! Shane and I always say that it's SO much more than being able to ski, it's the sheer beauty all around us! My favorite part is riding the ski lifts up! You truly see God's beautiful creation! Madelyn had a GREAT time going and learning how to ski! She still talks about it everyday and tells anyone that will listen! Murphy just enjoyed exploring everything!

New Years Eve Game Night! and headed home:(

  On New Years Eve we decided to play a game that Matt taught us called Telephone Pictionary! We had the best laughs at the game! The idea is for the first person to write down a common phrase/song lyric etc. The next person has to draw it. The following person has to use words again to describe the picture. By the time it got around the table, the original phrase was usually something HILARIOUS!

One of them was "Taste The Rainbow" by non other than Moi! 8 people later it had turned into "Bald Man smoking a Joint!" PRICELESS!

 I can at least say that this crew was very talented! I'm really surprised we didn't wake up all the children by our laughter!
