Thanksgiving

Jenny, Matt, Addy Grace, Shane, Madelyn and I went to MS for a visit. Me and Maddie stayed until after Thanksgiving. Shane came back down after he got some school work out of the way.
Madelyn watched Elmo on the way down. She had to listen to it over the headphones so that the entire care would not have to listen...
This was her first experience with head phones. She could not figure out what to do with them at first..
Addy Grace just slept the entire way!!
Madelyn with Kayden (Katie and Jason's sweet little girl)
Katie(Shane's cousin) and Kayden sleeping
Mema (Shane's grandmother) gave us all a scare. She had to be rushed to the ER because she was having chest pains. She did indeed have a heart attack. She was taken to Jackson to have a stint put in. She is doing much better now and was released on Wed. We have SO much to be Thankful for!! We Love you Mema and we're happy your doing better!!!

Wild Woman Hair!

Every morning when Madelyn wakes up her hair is flying every which way!
There is a lovely knotted rats nest in the back. I have to spray it down with Johnson's & Johnson's No Tangles before I can get a comb through it!

It looks like this even after her nap!
This is after I wet it! (I thought it was funny)(After)
(CHEESE!)
She almost needs a haircut..I do not look forward to this because I'm scared her little curls will not grow back... I might just get the front cut!

Fall Pictures

Madelyn and Addy Grace
Sweet Addy Grace slept through all of this!
This picture makes me laugh! Matt(Madelyn uncle) dressed Madelyn while we were outside taking pictures. This is how he thought the snaps lined up!
She loved playing in the leaves!

*17 months old!*

(She loves wearing my shoes)

At 17 months, words to describe Madelyn are silly, messy, mischievous, and TALKATIVE! Her little personality is really starting to come through! Her favorite songs are "He's got the whole Word", and "Itzy Bitsy Spider". She hates having her hair brushed, and her teeth brushed. She LOVES shoes, Elmo, being outside, Miles (our cat) Elsie (our dog)and her daddy (whom she goes around the house looking and calling for every morning)! "Da Da??" This past month she has really started talking..she says "Joe Joe"..which sounds more like "doedoe" and miles or "mys". She also says juice "duce".
I walked into my den where Madelyn had climbed onto the side table. She was grabbing handfuls of dirt from my plant and placing it on the couch..(there is no need to decorate your house when your toddler will do it for you!)funny gal!! She was saying "tickle, tickle" while touching Elsie's feet
(Elsie, by the way, is NOT allowed on our couch, I walked in on this moment!)
getting into her dada cds and making them all nice and slobbery!
climbing on EVERYTHING!
Little Miss independent, putting her clothes on and would squeal at me if I helped!rearranging my Tupperware and giving them a rinse cycle!
she climbed into her chair to "read" a book!

Here are some great Maddie videos! enjoy!

Madelyn checking out her new potty!

Nope...we're not really trying yet...I did however want to introduce it to her. Lately she has been hiding in corners to "fill her diaper". That tells me that she is aware of when she goes, or at least #2. One afternoon I found her in the bathroom banging/hitting the top of the toilet lid. A second after that, she pooped in her diaper, went over to the basket and picked up the spray...hummm. does this mean she's been observing anyone?
I bought this potty because it is what Kate,(Jon and Kate plus eight) used on her 6 children.
Well I guess we'll see.

"thinking about it...."
"maybe not..."
"hey, you're foot does not belong in there!"
Shane and I were clapping every time she sat down on it! Then we gave her a piece of candy!

Here is a funny poem about potty training..

Potty Training

First you bought me diapers
Then you take them away
And give me what you call
training pants
That 's really strange, I'd say!

Now you sit this silly potty
Right in front of me
And tell me that is where
I am to sit
If I should have to "pee".

Well, I think this is all really silly
But I want to do what I should do
So I sit here on this potty
And I do it just for you!
