This baby's bible verse:
"God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..." Eph. 3:20
(funny enough Jenny...This still applies!)
When we went to our "20 ultrasound" on March 1st the sonographer suspected fetal abnormalities. One was called an echogenic focus within the cardiac ventricle (This is a small spot in the baby's heart.) The other possible finding was a hemivertebra in the mid thoracic level.(within one vertebra there appeared to only be a half of the bone needed to make an entire vertebrae. It makes the vertebra look like a triangle instead of a normal squarish shape). Needless to say Shane and I were shocked and in total disbelief after hearing this. Dr. Draughn (my OBGYN) did a great job about answering our questions about what this means and what we needed to do next. We went ahead and told our families about what they had suspected the night that we had the gender reveal party.
We were sent to go see a specialist at the TN Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. Collins did a full anomaly scan on our baby that took 1hr.45mins. They looked at every finger, every toe and even looked at the nasal bone (I've never had this in an ultrasound!) but mainly looked at the heart and spine. The spot in the baby's heart was still there but does not pose a threat. Dr. Collins was not able to even find the hemi! He said that he is not saying for sure that its not there but if he can't even see it that it really did not pose a problem! PRAISE GOD! We were So happy to hear this! He even went as far to say that he did not find it necessary to come back and see him but that he would leave it up to Dr. Draughn if I needed another ultrasound or not.
On a funny note the Dr. told us that our child "had not missed a meal!" The average 20 wk 4 day baby weighs around 10 1/2 oz. Our baby was measuring at
1 pound and 1 ounce! This put him at 91 percentile!!! He's A BIG OLE BOY!
We were very happy afterwards and exhaled a sigh of relief as soon as we got into the elevator.
"look at the little nose!"
"Yep...it's pretty easy to tell..."

I'm so glad things look okay. That would be so scary to have to go through. When I went for the gender ultrasound she said she had trouble finding all four chambers of the heart and I may be called back to have another one done. I was worried about it until our next appointment with Dr. Draughn. Love the new pics of baby boy Ivey!
That's such great news! And what an answered prayer! I know that had to be the scariest hour and 45 minutes ever.
Sweet, sweet baby boy, We love you soo much already and can't wait to kiss your chubby, sweet cheeks!!!
