We are 95% of the way there! Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises may gain more pigment in the months after he's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)
We had or Doctor visit this morning. BP was a little high. 140/80. He is not too concerned though b/c I have no swelling and I've lost 1 1/2 lbs. in a week. One of the things they look for in troubling BP is rapid weight gain. Baby's HR was 148. Fundal height is 38, right with the week now! I am still 1 cm dilated. -1 station. But I've not effaced at all...(shorting of cervix) This pregnancy ending is following Madelyn's almost exactly, so I wouldn't be too surprised if he delivers at 40 wks. We talked a little about inducing. Dr. Draughn does not strip membranes b/c of the risk of infection. I am wanting to go into labor as naturally as possible. So we asked about what I could be doing to move things along. Walking is really about it...my thoughts...walking in mid July...not fun. He said we will look at an induction next Monday. But for this to happen I have to be two-three cm dilated. If my body is still 1 cm and they try to induce, it increases the risk of c-section b/c its my bodies way of saying "Not Ready!" Now..with all that info, the crappiest part is that Dr. Draughn and his family are leaving for Water Color, Fl from the 22-25 of July...I think I could cry right now...so.... walking it is... got any other suggestions???

I hate that for you! We were just talking about that. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that Murphy decides he should go ahead and come so Dr. Draughn will be here!
I think I should come have a talk with Mr. Murphy and explain to him that EVERYBODY wants to see him and that his Mommy really wants him to come out!!
