Shane and I went and watched the Lighting of the Green at Lipscomb on Tuesday night. (We've been every year so far!) Shane was having to take pictures. Madelyn and I sat with Nino, Jenny, Addy Grace, and Joe Joe. Nashville Pipe and Drum (bag pipes) started the evening with a fantastic entrance! (little known fact about me...When I hear bag pipes it makes me tear up, I LOVE Them!) Performers included Amy Grant, Fisk Jubilee Singers and the Lipscomb choruses, Phil Stacey, formerly of American Idol, and bluegrass singer Trey Hensley. A guy named Sterling Gittens all the way from Trinidad came and sang!(I think HE did the best job!!) The concert served as a kick-off for Second Harvest Food Bank’s Feeding Hope Challenge.
